The city of L’Aquila in Abruzzo is the Italian Capital of Culture (Capital Italian della Cultura) for 2026. As part of this effort, Goffredo Palmerini, journalist, writer and former deputy mayor of L’Aquila, is leading a two-volume publishing project to be released this Spring. The first volume will celebrate one of the city’s most distinguished literary sons, playwright Mario Fratti. The second will present portraits of 118 people connected to L’Aquila in the 21st century.

Goffredo Palmerini is a friend of AMHS, specifically the D’Andrea family and the late Omero Sabatini. He visited us at Casa Italiana several years ago. Goffredo shared with us an article published in LA Voce di New York. Read the full article here.
