Former Art Conservator Stefano Scafetta to Speak at January Meeting
The featured speaker for our meeting on Sunday. January 26, 2025, will be Stefano Scafetta who retired in November 2008 as the senior conservator of paintings at the Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM) in Washington, D.C. He was born in Formia in the region of Lazio, Italy, during World War II.

Annual Wine Tasting at Casa Italiana A Big Success
An audience of 70 recently decided that it would be fun to spend a chilly autumn day at a wonderful wine tasting in Casa Italiana. Not only did participants get to sample several delicious Italian wines, they also heard a talk about the wines from a local expert who brought the bottles from his own wine cellar.

Rotello
The small town of Rotello is located about 30 kilometers (19 miles) northeast of Campobasso. in the province of Campobasso. It has about 1,190 inhabitants, called Rotellesi.

Painter and Art Advocate Filippo Palizzi
Filippo Palizzi was born in the small city of Vasto (population 41,409 in the 2017 Census) on the Adriatic coast in the province of Chieti in the region of Abruzzo, on June 16, 1818. When he was 19, he moved to Naples and enrolled in the Royal Institute of Fine Arts.
