THE D’ANDREA FAMILY CELEBRATES THE MARRIAGE OF MIKAYLA ALBERICO CRUMP AND JOSH ROUSCULP

On April 10, 2026, Mikalya Alberico Crump, granddaughter of Lucio and Edvige D’Andrea, married Josh Rousculp at Palagina-Rurale di Natura, Ponte Agli Stolli, Florence, Italy. Mikayla knew, from a very young age, that she wanted to marry in Italy in honor of her Italian heritage (on her mother and father’s sides of the family). As Lucio and Edvige were unable to travel to Italy for the wedding, on March 6, Mikayla and Josh were legally married at the courthouse in Raleigh, N.C. The couple chose to do this for a few personal reasons, but mainly It was very important that their Nonna and Nonno be able to witness a small part of their marriage.

While Mikalya and Josh were “legally married” on March 6, the wedding on April 10 was when they fully celebrated the beginning of their lives together, as they exchanged their personal vows and rings surrounded by 70 of their dearest family and friends (five of the D’Andrea children and their spouses were in attendance, as well as six of Mikalya’s cousins).  The festivities started with a Welcome Dinner on April 9, followed by the wedding. At both, all feasted on wonderful Italian dishes and wine from the Palagina vineyard – and dancing until all hours of the nights. Tanti auguri Mikalya and Josh!

A VISIT TO FAMILY ROOTS

AMHS member Joseph (Joey) Scafetta III recently visited a farm owned by family on the Polish-Russian border. One of Joey's great grandfathers, Franciszek Kozlowski III, was born on this farm in Poland under Czarist Russian occupation on October 14, 1873.  He was the middle son of three.  He immigrated to the USA and landed on Ellis Island on June 22, 1900.  He and his wife, Marianna Jasionowska, had eight children.  Joey's paternal grandmother, Maria Kozlowska, was the youngest. The farm is still in the family and is owned by Joey's cousin, Marek Kozlowski, who is a direct descendent of Franciszek's older brother, Yakov.
