Dr. Primeggia Gives Informative Presentation on Nutrition and the Mediterranean Diet

By Teresa Black

Dr. Jennifer Primeggia speaking at the March 8 meeting.

Our guest speaker for the Abruzzo Molise Heritage Society luncheon on Sunday, March 8 at was Dr. Jennifer Primeggia, who is an infectious disease specialist practicing in Arlington. She gave us a very informed and interesting 40-minute presentation about “Nutrition, Infection, and the Mediterranean Diet.” Dr. Primeggia answered many questions, and she was gracious and patient with everyone.

Attendees listened closely to Dr. Primeggia’s presentation.

Past President Ray LaVerghetta introduced us to one of the 2025 scholarship winners, Gianna Yerkes, who is studying at Georgetown and plans to spend the summer in Italy and study abroad there in the fall. The lunch was catered by Fontina Grill and consisted of penne primavera, Italian sausage with peppers, a fabulous chicken dish, bread, and salad. Desserts were provided by our own Lynn Sorbara.  Many thanks, Lynn, they were all delicious and appreciated.
